Sausage Balls on Camp Fire


Scramble 1 pound of sausage in your Dutch oven or black skillet. Freshly ground sausage from a freshly killed animal while hunting is excellent. When meat is done, mix 3 cups of biscuit mix, 1 cup of shredded cheese and the cooked meat in a gallon plastic bag or food storage container. If using a plastic bag, close and mix all the ingredients from the outside of the bag with your hands. If using a container, mix inside the bowl all the ingredients by hand. When mixed well, shape into balls by hand. Place in Dutch oven or skillet and cook approximately 10-20 minutes or until done and brown. May sprinkle paprika on top. Serve warm. Store left-overs in an air tight fook storage container and keep cold.
